| Mi ricevis antaŭ kelkaj tagoj leteron datumitan de la 26-a de januaro 1908, kaj adresitan de S-roj Leau kaj Couturat, en ilia persona nomo, "Al la membroj de la Lingva Komitato". Mi supozas, ke vi ankaŭ jam ricevis aŭ baldaŭ ricevos tiun saman leteron. | A few days ago I received a letter dated January 26, 1908, and addressed by Messieurs Leau and Couturat, in their own names, "To the members of the Language Committee." I suppose that you too have already received or will soon receive this same letter. |
| Ĉar tiu verko tute diferencas de la antaŭaj skribaĵoj senditaj de la samaj personoj al multaj esperantistoj, aŭ de la sciigoj publikigitaj de ili en la gazetoj, kaj sekve povos naski erarajn supozojn pri la veraj okazintaj faktoj; ĉar aliparte mi scias, ke de longatempe, la ĉefaj membroj de la Delegacia Komitato bedaŭris la direkton donitan de la sekretarioj al la agado de tiu institucio, kaj eĉ protestis kontraŭ iliaj ofendaj pretendoj rilate al la esperantistoj, mi estas devigata publikigi la lastan oficialan leteron kiun mi sendis al la Prezidanto de la Delegacia Komitato, kvankam mi ne havas ankoraŭ respondon al tiu letero, datumita de la 18-a de januaro 1908. | Because this work is quite different from the previous writing sent by the same individuals to many Esperantists, or from the information published by them in the magazines, and consequently can give birth to erroneous suppositions about the facts as they have truly occurred; because on the other hand I know that for a long time the main members of the Delegation Committee have regretted the direction given by the secretaries to the activity of that institution, and have even protested against their offensive pretensions with respect to the Esperantists, I am forced to publish the last official letter which I sent to the President of the Delegation Committee, although I have not yet had a reply to that letter, dated January 18, 1908. |

| Kiel opinias multaj el la ĉefaj malnovaj partianoj de la Delegacio, ni povas konsideri la taskon de tiu institucio kiel hodiaŭ finita, kaj ni povas montri al la mondo, ke la esperantistoj povas ĉiam kaj ĝustatempe garantii la konservadon kaj praktikan evolucion de sia lingvo, per siaj propraj fortoj, sen ekstera interveno. | As many of the main old partisans of the Delegation think, we can consider the task of that institution as finished as of today, and we can show the world that the Esperantists can always and punctually guarantee the preservation and practical evolution of their language, with their own forces, without external intervention. |
| Kun la konsento de nia Majstro, kiu tion aludis en sia Cirkulera Letero mi intencas sendi al vi baldaŭ proponojn por plenigi la organizon de la Lingva Komitato kaj faciligi ĝian funkciadon. Tiuj proponoj ebligos konsulti la Komitaton, se estos bezone, pri ĉiuj aldonoj al la lingvo, kiuj povus ŝajni utilaj kaj praktikaj, sen ia rompo en ĝia natura evolucio. Se S-roj Leau kaj Couturat, kiel privataj personoj, hodiaŭ varbitaj esperantistoj, volas prezenti al la Komitato konvenajn proponojn pri aldonoj, ili povas tion fari, laŭ la regula maniero, kiel ceteraj esperantistoj. | With the agreement of our Master, who has alluded to this in his Circular Letter, I intend to send you, soon, proposals for filling the organization of the Language Committee and facilitating its workings. These proposals will make it possible to consult the Committee, if there is need, on all additions to the language which might seem useful and practical, without any break in its natural evolution. If Messieurs Leau and Couturat, as private individuals, Esperantists recruited today, want to present to the Committee suitable proposals about additions, they can do so in the regular manner, like other Esperantists. |
