Oni diras plie, ke la Delegacio, aŭ almenaŭ ĝiaj sekretarioj-fondintoj,
intencas tuj prezenti la aferon al la juĝo de la internacia Akademiaro. Tiu
lasta kredeble rifuzos ludi tiun rolon. Tion antaŭsupozante, s-roj Leau kaj
Couturat volas, sen plua atendo, ke la Delegitaro, el kiu konsistas la
Delegacio, tuj elektu mem la lingvon. Ĉu tio ne estas antaŭtempa danĝera
paŝo? Ĉu vere la demando estas nun tiel solvebla? Ĉu la 250 Societoj, kiuj
aliĝis, prezentas sufiĉan aŭtoritaton kompare kun la cent miloj da
Societoj nun ekzistantaj en la mondo? Kaj kiam la Delegitaro estos
elektinta ian lingvon, kian povon ĝi havos por trudi sian decidon?...

It is further said that the Delegation, or at least its
secretaries-founders, intends to immediately present the matter to the
judgement of the international Association of Academies. This last will
probably refuse to play this role. Presupposing this, Messieurs Leau and
Couturat want, without further waiting, for the Delegates who make up the
Delegation to immediately choose the language themselves. Is this not a
premature and dangerous step? Is the question now really this resolvable?
Do the 250 Societes which have signed on present enough authority by
comparison with the hundreds of thousands of Societies now existing in
the world? And when the Delegation will have chosen a language, what sort
of power will it have to enforce its decision?...

La Cambridge'a kongreso milfoje pli efikos por la disvastigo de la ideo,
ol unu decido de l' nuna malforta Delegacio, kiu cetere laŭ sia nuna stato
certe elektus Esperanton, sed povus naski danĝerajn diskutojn pri reformoj!

The Cambridge congress will be a thousand times as effective in the spread
of the idea than one decision by the present weak Delegation, which in its
current state would certainly choose Esperanto, but could give birth to
dangerous discussions about reforms!
